To Facebook or Not To Facebook

To Facebook or Not to Facebook.

That is the question.

Everywhere I turn, the advice is to “Go where your customers are”.  And while I love Twitter, I am using it more for learning than for finding my potential customers and followers.  I think part of me has resisted trying to find people who might be interested in following along because I felt stalled with my previous designer.  Like the whole thing had been put on pause while I waited.  Now things are back on track (fingers crossed), finding people to connect with has moved up the to do list.

Most people I know are on Facebook socially and I think I am going to have to go there to connect with the people I think will like my products (when they are ready) and this blog.  Businesses I like all seem to have Facebook pages where they promote things much more and where there is a “conversation” for their business.

I have fought against joining Facebook for so long.

When friends asked me – begged me – to join.  It just didn’t feel like my cup of tea.  But having done Twitter for a while, I think I may be more open to it all.

I have started working on designing a newsletter for this blog as well.  I am tossing up between getting that set up first or if I join Facebook now and continue to work on the newsletter.  Decisions, decisions.  Things are getting technical and tactical over here at the moment.

When I have the newsletter and/or the Facebook page up and running, I will let you know.  In the meantime, I think I have some more learning to do.  It seems as soon as you learn one thing, you find ten more things you need to learn to take the next step.

If nothing else, I’m going to be smarter than I was a year ago.
